Terms of Service

These Terms of Service govern your use of the services provided by plagiarism-checker-online.net, operated by korrektur.de / Benjamin Lohrer, Rintheimer Straße 34, 76131 Karlsruhe, Germany ("we", "us", "our"). By placing an order or using our services, you agree to these terms.

1. Scope of Services

We provide the following digital services:

• Plagiarism Scan: Analysis of uploaded documents for text matching against our database of web pages, academic publications, and other sources. Results are delivered as a similarity report highlighting matched passages and their sources.
• AI Detection Scan: Analysis of uploaded documents for the likelihood that sections of the text were generated by an AI language model (such as ChatGPT, GPT-4, Claude, or similar tools). Results include per-sentence probability scores.
• Combo Package: Both scans combined at a discounted rate.

The service is intended for informational and academic self-assessment purposes. Results provide a risk indicator based on our databases and algorithms; they do not constitute a legally binding judgment on plagiarism or academic misconduct.

2. Ordering and Contract Formation

A binding contract is formed when you complete payment for an order. By submitting your order and completing payment, you confirm that you have read and agreed to these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy.

We reserve the right to decline orders in exceptional circumstances, such as technical failures or evidence of misuse. In such cases, any payment received will be refunded in full.

3. Pricing

All prices are displayed on the order page before payment is confirmed. Pricing is based on standard pages, where one standard page equals 1,800 characters including spaces. Prices include applicable VAT.

• Plagiarism Scan: 0.29 € per standard page (minimum 1 page)
• AI Scan: 0.29 € per standard page (minimum 1 page)
• Combo Package: discounted rate — see the Pricing page for current rates

Prices may change at any time. Changes do not affect orders already placed and paid for.

4. Payment

Payments are processed exclusively via Stripe (Stripe Payments Europe, Ltd., Dublin, Ireland). We accept major credit and debit cards as provided by the Stripe checkout interface.

Payment is due at the time of ordering. Your upload will only be processed after successful payment confirmation. We do not store your payment card details.

5. Delivery of Results

Reports are delivered by email to the address provided at checkout. Typical delivery time is within 15 minutes of payment confirmation. During high-volume periods, delivery may take up to 30 minutes.

If you have not received your report within 60 minutes, check your spam or junk folder. If the email is not there, contact us at kontakt@plagiarism-checker-online.net with your order confirmation details.

We are not liable for delays or non-delivery caused by incorrect email addresses provided by the customer, email provider spam filters, or force majeure events.

6. Acceptable Use Policy

You may use our services only for lawful purposes. You agree not to:

• Upload files containing illegal, harmful, or unlawful content, including content that infringes the rights of third parties
• Use the service to facilitate academic fraud, including submitting reports obtained from us to misrepresent the authorship of another person's work
• Attempt to reverse engineer, copy, scrape, or reproduce our database, algorithms, or report format
• Use automated scripts or bots to interact with the service
• Upload content that contains personal data of third parties without their consent

We reserve the right to refuse service to any user who violates these terms.

7. Intellectual Property

Ownership of uploaded documents remains with the uploader. By uploading a document, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to process the file for the purpose of delivering your scan report. We do not use your document for any other purpose and do not share it with third parties.

All website content, including text, design, software, and reports generated by our system, is the intellectual property of korrektur.de / Benjamin Lohrer and is protected by copyright. Unauthorized reproduction is prohibited.

8. Accuracy of Results

Our plagiarism and AI detection services use probabilistic algorithms and databases. Results are provided as an indicator only and may not reflect all instances of plagiarism or AI-generated content. We do not guarantee that the reports will be error-free or complete.

In particular:

• Our database does not include every source in existence. Some matches may not be found if the source is not in our database.
• AI detection tools can produce false positives (flagging human-written text as AI) and false negatives (missing AI-written text). Results should be treated as indicative, not conclusive.
• Reports are intended as a self-assessment tool, not as expert opinions or legal evidence.

9. Limitation of Liability

We are liable without limitation for damages resulting from intentional or grossly negligent conduct, injury to life, body, or health, and claims under the German Product Liability Act.

For other damages arising from a breach of a material contractual obligation (Kardinalpflicht), our liability is limited to typical and foreseeable damages. Liability for other negligent breaches of non-material obligations is excluded.

We are not liable for any academic, professional, or legal consequences arising from the use of our reports. Reports do not constitute legal advice, expert opinions, or certificates of academic integrity.

10. Cancellation and Refunds

11. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms of Service are governed exclusively by the laws of the Federal Republic of Germany, excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods (CISG). The place of jurisdiction for all disputes arising from this contractual relationship, insofar as the customer is a merchant (Kaufmann) within the meaning of the German Commercial Code, is Karlsruhe, Germany.

For consumers within the EU, mandatory consumer protection provisions of the country in which the consumer is habitually resident shall also apply.

12. Amendments to These Terms

We reserve the right to amend these Terms of Service. Changes will be published on this page. The terms applicable at the time of your order govern that transaction.
