University resources for policy and AI-use questions

Use these university resources to find the right guide and prepare specific questions, not to obtain permission from a directory. Start with your assignment instructions and your institution's current documents. This hub connects our policy guide, practical disclosure help and explicitly preliminary research.

Build a permission record, not a list of approved brands

Before using an AI feature, make a short note with four fields: the assignment, the activity you intend to perform, the instruction that addresses it, and the disclosure required. Save the document URL or file and its date with your notes. This is a suggested working method, not a statement of any institution's rules.

Describe an activity precisely. “Use AI” could mean getting spelling feedback, translating your own paragraph or generating a new argument. Ask about the feature and the work it will do. Do not treat permission for one activity as an answer about all the others.

If instructions seem inconsistent, send your instructor the relevant wording and your specific question before proceeding. Do not fill a gap in the rules with a detector score or with another university's practice.

A question you can adapt

For [assignment], may I use [tool and feature] to [specific activity]? I would use the output by [your planned process]. Which acknowledgment, citation or supporting records should I submit? This is a suggested question, not official policy wording.

What the research link does and does not cover

The linked dataset contains a preliminary first batch of 40 institutions. It includes unknown fields and source links. It is not a representative estimate, a complete university directory or a reliability study. An absent school or unknown field does not establish that no rule exists. Read the current institutional source before acting.

Your next three steps

  1. Keep the syllabus and assignment instructions with your working notes.
  2. Record the permitted activity and the instructor's clarification, if needed.
  3. Document what you actually did; do not use a generic statement that misdescribes your work.
